Layers of Beauty
I just love a good flowery card, especially one with a “vintage vibe”. For this card, I used the Layers of Beauty bundle from Stampin’ Up!©. The masks make it so quick and easy to add color, without having to pull out your markers or colored pencils. It’s a bundle that makes it easy to provide multiples if you find yourself needing more than one card at a time.
If you want to watch the bundle, masks and ink blending in action, you can check out my YouTube tutorial. It’s a little longer than usual, but I shared TWO cards using the same bundle. One care is one-layer, a little quicker to make, and very pretty. The second card has all the layers, textures and a fun fold, and more of a “vintage vibe” I was going for.
This bundle comes with multiple stamps and dies. If you prefer to stamp and color the flowers, you can certainly personalize the flowers in your own way.
Like I mentioned above, there are masks (or stencils) that I used for my cards. Each one masks off different parts of the image to help you create the shading and layers of color.
As they usually do, Stampin’ Up! © also included a few extra dies in the set that don’t correspond to a stamp, but definitely coordinate with the set. There are a few leaves and a cute little tag die, which I used in the card pictured above.
For both cards, I used the Stylish Shapes dies for the sentiment or an additional embellishment. Additionally, I used the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing folder to add texture to the slim side panel and small tag on the vintage card.
Lastly, I made my own custom ribbon, from seam binding and some ink. I’ll share the process at a later time, as it was inspired by another creator. Which leads me to a huge shout-out. The layout of this card and the ribbon technique were both inspired by Jamie Pate! You can find her on all the socials, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. I love her style and ideas.
