Market Goodness
I love the idea of having a big, bountiful garden. My mom used to have one when we were growing up on the farm.
At the time I equated it with a lot of hot, sweaty work, pulling weeds and fighting the grasshoppers.
I surely didn’t appreciate it as much, at the time, as I should have.
I did however enjoy the bounties of the garden.
I remember my mom spending hours canning vegetables such as green beans, beets, tomatoes, corn, and peas. We enjoyed radishes, carrots, squash, zucchini and potatoes. Oh, and I can’t forget cucumbers. (They are my current obsession - I eat some almost daily).
I also remember many years when she would turn tomatoes into items like soup and pasta sauce that we could enjoy throughout the winter.
Now, I like to visit farmer’s markets, when I can, to get fresh vegetables during our too-short summer in Minnesota.
This brings me to today’s spotlight…
The new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog that came out in April 2024 is full of lots of fun surprises, including the veggie-filled suite called To Market.
I think I love this set so much because it’s different.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all the flower sets, nature, cute characters and more flowers! But you don’t often see a suite centered around veggies.
I love that the dies cut out both the stamped images and the images on one of the sheets (two in each pack) of Designer Series Paper, giving lots of options for papercrafting.
I think one of my favorite features is the mesh market bag die that can be cut from cardstock and filled with vegetables or flower bouquets.
So far, I enjoyed creating scrapbook pages and some cards using this suite. I’m excited to keep creating with this suite, especially now that I ordered more of the DSP during the sale (save 15% on DSP from the annual catalog from August 6-31, 2024).
Here is my video tutorial and full suite preview:
I love that the catalog features several card ideas created with this suite of products. Those are next on my list to recreate!
I would love to see what you create with this set or suite of products. Don’t forget to tag me if you share on social media!
Oh, and what is your favorite vegetable to eat? I mentioned cucumbers above…I can’t get enough of them during the summer! I like alot of others, too, and am expanding my palette the older I get.
I hope you enjoyed my walk down memory lane. Hopefully it sparked a few memories for you as well.
Have a great rest of your day!
